all eyez on me 2

This summer, in the footsteps of Notorious and Straight Outta Compton comes an ambitious attempt to reveal the untold story of Tupac Shakur, perhaps the most influential rapper to have ever lived. Known for his music videos made for the rap echelon of Nicki Minaj, P. Diddy, and 50 Cent, Director Benny Boom chooses to focus on Shakur’s dynamic personality and his role as a voice against racial oppression and inner-city gang violence. Starring Demetrius Shipp, Jr. in his feature film debut as Shakur, All Eyez on Me bears similarity to Danny Boyle’s 2015 Steve Jobs biopic in not only its fast-moving dialogue and smooth cinematography, but also in its thrilling depiction of a controversial genius.
